You serious, Clark? This classic Christmas movie is Wisconsin moviegoers' favorite

It seems Wisconsin is hoping to visit the Griswolds for Christmas.

Marcus Theatres recently asked members of its Magical Movie Rewards loyalty program about their favorite holiday movies. Among Wisconsin members, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" was the top pick.

Across the 17 states where Marcus has theaters, the Will Ferrell comedy "Elf" ranked No. 1, followed by "Christmas Vacation," "A Christmas Story," the 2000 edition of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "It's a Wonderful Life."

"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" ranks as Wisconsin's favorite, according to a survey of loyalty program members by Marcus Theatres.

Not by coincidence, select Marcus Theatres are showing "Elf" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" through Dec. 9, and "Christmas Vacation," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "It's a Wonderful Life" Dec. 10-16.

Marcus also asked its members which holiday season releases they were most looking forward to. No. 1 across all Marcus members was "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (due in theaters Dec. 17); among its Wisconsin members, the top pick was "Ghostbusters: Afterlife."
