The ace-director had announced yesterday (October 14) that their upcoming production's title and first look will arrive today. Sharing the same. Kavin took to his Instagram story to subtly announce that he's part of the film by saying, "All the best nae (brother)..." with a chuckling emoji. Rowdy Pictures' official handle took to Twitter to announce the movie's title - 'Oor Kuruvi' and the first look poster which featured a giant nest in the front with a sea of people behind it. The poster which also revealed that it is inspired by true events has raised expectations among fans.
The movie is directed by debutant Arun K, who worked as an assistant director to filmmakers Vignesh Shivan in Thaana Serndha Koottam and Ajay Gnanamuthu in the movies 'Demonte Colony' and 'Imaikka Nodigal'. The movie's announcement video came with Kavin meeting Vignesh Shivan inside a lift, a possible connection to his last movie. While both of them exchange greetings, Kavin goes on to say that he has a story and narrates it to the producer-cum-director. After explaining the story Kavin calls the director Arun and says that Vignesh has agreed to the story.

The actor was last seen playing the lead in the recently released film titled 'Lift'. Apart from Kavin, the film featured Amritha in lead role which was directed by Vineeth Varaprasad. Bankrolled by Ekaa Entertainment, the film released in Disney+Hotstar on October 1. He also worked as an assistant director in Nelson Dilipkumar's recently-released hit film 'Doctor' featuring Sivakarthikeyan inthe lead role. He is also has a web series with Reba Monica John titled 'Akash Vaani'. The shoot was recently completed.
